Lessons

No matter how much you try to tell someone, warn someone or explain to someone that what they are doing may be "wrong," they must learn it on their own. The best and most meaningful life lessons often come from pain and consequences. There are however life lessons that do come from happiness, but those are easy. Real lessons on the journey of life are learned through experiencing something firsthand and eventually identifying or being able to step out of the situation and say, "I am grateful for this experience because I learned....."

Vocab:
meaningful-full of meaning significance, purpose, or value; purposeful
consequences-the effect, result, or outcome of something occurring earlier
situation-condition; case;
grateful-warmly or deeply appreciative of kindness or benefitsreceived; thankful
identifying-to recognize or establish as being a particular person orthing

Grammar Point: compound words are two words combined creating a whole new word. First + hand= firsthand

Task: Give an example using the past tense stating something you have learned through pain or consequences.
